Breaking the Rule.

(Found accidentally via facebook, and I think it's absolutely beautiful.)

"Why do you tell me things?" says hers.
"I don't even know," mine answers.
Hers flexes, blossoming over her teeth--she says they're perfect. I say they're just perfect enough. An open palm is against my face. A pair of curious fingers pinch my left lobe. She buckles, laughing at me.
Mine climbs through my cheeks until it hurts. I'm laughing at me too.
If she'd look, she'd see mine: apologetically crooked. She won't look. She knows the rule. They say you're not supposed to look. No one looks. Why would you want to? It's the rule.
The backs of fingers move down her face as I break the rule.
I'm looking. I see hers, flexing again, opening like a new flower. Her's is ready. Mine is eager. Mine move closer to hers. My eyes are open when they meet. I'm watching as our smiles come together, just perfect enough.
I breathe and she's in my breath. I touch and I find her there. My head swims with her taste. She hums too softly for her to hear. My eyes are open as time loses its power. I break the rule.
It was worth it.
